Turkey Trot

Dad and Amberly got the crazy idea that they wanted to run a 5k on Thanksgiving.  They asked me to join them and I thought it would be fun so I did.  Little did we know that it was going to be a whopping 4 degrees at the time of the race.  It was so cold!  But we did it.  This was their first race and I am proud of them.  It was fun to talk as we ran and to see all the other crazy people there.  We hung around after for awhile and all took home different prizes from the drawings.  I hope that we can run some races together in the future.

One Week to Go . . .

Only one short week until the Halloween Half Marathon.  I do not know if I am excited or relieved.

So in preparation for that I ran 10 miles today.  My longest run to date.  Most of it was in the dark and thankfully my hubby was at my side.  I felt pretty good for the most part.  My knee started hurting at about 9 1/2 miles.  I am hoping it will last for the whole race.

Either way about it, 10 miles wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be :)

8 Miles

Yep, 8 miles!!!

Today I ran 8 miles by myself.  A great accomplishment because I consider myself a social runner.

I ran from my house all the way to Roger's office.  Still can't believe it.

Not only that, I did it in 1 hr. 21 min., a 10 minute mile.

Roger and I are signed up the the Halloween Half Marathon.  I think I might actually be able to do it.

Great way to start my day!
